Apostle Gene A. Moore, Sr. - Bio
Apostle Gene A. Moore, Sr. has been in ministry for more than forty years as a pastor, community activist, television evangelist and shepherding mentor to local and international church leaders. He is the founding pastor of the historic St. Agnes Church in Houston, Texas, which has stood as a celebrated safe-haven for men and women searching for “hope and possibilities.”
As a man of vision, integrity, fortitude, commitment and faith, Apostle Moore’s journey began in Marshall, Texas when he was born to Sam and Irene Moore. He grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas, in a society plagued by racial and economic discrimination, but he quickly developed a determination to rise above his present circumstances and reach for a better life. He moved to Houston, Texas to attend Texas Southern University and there received his vision and call to the Gospel ministry.
Apostle Moore has served over the years in distinguished positions with local and state governments, supporting education initiatives, mobilizing communities for social reform and promoting economic diversity. His ministry has also engaged in crisis relief, feeding programs, health and wellness initiatives and global evangelism.
Apostle Moore has preached the Gospel face to face to thousands of people in crusades, for ministry training and at international conferences. He ministers to millions of people through his weekly television broadcast “The March of Faith.”
Under the pastoral leadership of Apostle Moore are St. Agnes Church, Pearland Christian Community Church and the Open Door Missions Outreach Ministry. Apostle Moore has traveled throughout the world as an evangelist ministering in South America, the Middle East and the Caribbean Islands.
Apostle Moore earned his Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Philosophy degrees at Friends International Christian University and a human resource management certificate from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management.
